<description>My husband has a 1977 Chevey 1/2 Ton 4 wheel drive Pickup. He is very proud of this truck. When something goes wrong with it he searches all over the state of Maine until he finds a part that will get her back on the road.
This Chevey has boosted the batteries many newer model vehicles on a sub zero morning, so the owners could get to work.
This truck did not come with a snow plow on it but since the last few winters we have some families that have lost the man of the house, weather it be ill health, been deployed, or have past away. Dave thought if he could rig a plow on his &#039;77 he could be of help to those that need it.
I remember when he first got the plow he would take our oldest son, who has since passed away due to complications with Cebral Palsy, out plowing with him. Our son David, could not walk or talk but he loved to hold on to the stick shift while his dad moved the snow and he would laugh with excitement when he could see the snow go blowing over him.
This truck also has pulled a great many wagons loaded with bales of hay. Again Dave loved to show her power as he helped my elderly dad fill a barn.
We also have 3 other children. A daughter age 29 and identical twin boys age 25. The 3 have many friends whom have asked to have 1st refusal if Dave ever sold it. But Dave just smiles and says, &quot; No way, I being buried in her, so they can see him and the old Rust colored truck in the heavens.
Dave, I know you will find to be a perfect recipient for your talents. Since I was diagnosed with MS, Dave has put his heart and dedication in making our home a safer place for me to function in and to get around. Just applying for this opportunity is one of the few things I can do for him.
He is always there to help others wether family, friends, and on many occassions strangers. Dave retired after 34 years as an elementary teacher, and he even finds time to help students when they call on the phone.
David is a wonderful father. He hunts, fishes, canoes, and works on the Chevy when she needs it. You&#039;ll find our children working right along side of him when they can get home for a visit.
Your talents Mr. Foose, and the teams you put together are artists of the finest kind. You show a passion for you work and a pride that the owners carry with them when they drive out of the garage that will last a life time. I hope I haven&#039;t over stepped my limitations. But, I know in my heart you won&#039;t be dissapointed if you concider David Gilbert of Palmyra Maine.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Nancy Gilbert

<description>Hello TLC’s Overhaulin! My husband is a HUGE fan of your show! He watches it in awww of having his 1968 Chevy Chevellle restored….He is the most wonderful man in the world and I am a very lucky wife to have him! We just had a beautiful girl, so obviously money is VERY, VERY tight! His pride and joy “Chevelle” is sitting in our garage collecting dirty laundry, cardboard, lawn equiptment, rust, and I can’t even tell you how much crap is on the inside now as well….needless to say his “rusted beauty” is in much need for your amazing work! My husband deserves this more than anyone I know, he is a mechanic for Toyota, so always working on everyone else’ cars and not his own! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me suprise and do something wonderful for a wonderful man! Thank you very much for your time!
